Contribution Understanding Of Differences â€Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: Examine About The Contribution Understanding Of Differences? Answer: Introducation contrasts. Social decent variety is broadly seen in business associations as this permits the organizations to extend business all inclusive by enlisting worldwide workforce. This is utilized as a serious business methodology as the associations can support in the serious business showcase. Culturally diverse administration is characterized as the conduct of the individuals in the associations around the globe in this way, portraying the hierarchical conduct inside nations (Moran, Abramson and Moran 2014). Hofstedes chip away at social contrasts helps in understanding and improving cooperation and correspondence between the collaborators, customers, providers and union accomplices from various nations and societies. Hofstedes take a shot at social contrasts is one of most extensive examinations that exhibit the impact of societies and qualities at the work environment. So as to comprehend the effect of social assorted variety at the working environment, Hofstede examined the enormous database of IBM representatives from 1967-1973 in excess of 50 nations. As indicated by Hofstede, culture is more regularly a wellspring of contention than of cooperative energy. Along these lines, social contrasts are an annoyance, best case scenario and regularly a catastrophe. Hofstede key exploration and conceptionual Hofstede was one of the principal individuals to consider people as PCs that require different programming for programming along these lines, introducing a relationship. Culture is the aggregate programming of the psyche which recognizes the individuals from one gathering from another (Giddens et al. 2016). The aggregate mental programmings of the people are incredibly affected by variables, for example, strict convictions alongside singular inclinations, tastes, and social foundation. Hofstede likewise referenced that individuals are not brought into the world with culture however develop with. After birth, the individual will in general gain from their encompassing social and strict condition. Educator Geert Hofstede incorporates six highlights to be specific, singularity/collectivistic, manly/female, vulnerability/evasion, power separation, time points of view and guilty pleasure/restriction in his work of Hofstedes chip away at social contrasts (Fang 2012). Utilization of Hofstede model As referenced by Bian and Forsythe (2012), power separation characterizes the social imbalance inside the general public. The general public incorporates the workplace that is managed by tough individuals. The force separation exhibits the separation between the people at various degrees of order in the workplace. The scale incorporates from equivalent to an inconsistent force separation. Hofstede showed that force is inconsistent conveyed in the business associations. At specific occurrences, most of the colleagues present at the workplace rule the representatives at the work environment because of the diverse social foundation. Because of this distinction among the collaborators and relationship is taken note. As remarked by Shenkar (2012), imbalance wins in the majority of the spots in the general public. In any case, it a few places the level of imbalance is more contrasted with different places inside the general public. For instance, the chiefs of the business associations will in general utilize their control over the representatives. In spite of the fact that to a limited degree it is legitimized so as to keep up parity and control inside the business association, at specific examples the force is abused. For example, because of social or strict inclinations, regardless of being qualified, the people are not given wanted positions or openings. Possibly they are not enlisted or they are not given appropriate proficient development scopes (Lee, Trimi and Kim 2013). The highlights of independence and community are characterized as the scale and arrangement of understanding inclinations of people or individuals working in gatherings (Smith et al. 2013). The idea of independence features the degree to which people should take care of themselves to support the specific gathering. A gathering is made out of socially various people that have various inclinations, convictions, and requests. In this manner, so as to support in the gathering, it is critical for the people to alter themselves. For instance, so as to accomplish the ideal objective, a group may be shaped that comprises of socially various people. So as to work effectively as a group, the people need to take care of themselves so they can proceed as a gathering. As indicated by Hofstede, Jonker and Verwaart (2012), the general public with individualistic nature will in general be progressively conceited and self-centered. Because of this propensity, the people may build their expansion to f amily and close family members. The US culture is a living case of individualistic culture. The idea of the individualistic culture of the US society encourages empowering singular accomplishments. Nonetheless, in actuality, the Guatemalan way of life is a case of an aggregate society that has faith in empowering aggregate accomplishments. On account of the community, the people underline more on the necessity of the whole gathering or society. They organize the need and requests of the gathering or the general public instead of thinking about their inclinations first (Rinne, Steel and Fairweather 2012). Accordingly, it is simpler of the gatherings or the social orders to accomplish the best and top notch results. The capacity of the people inside the gathering to receive the necessary changes without organizing singular inclinations brings about progress. The encompassing social condition and the idea of their childhood are created and assembled by the people. Hofstedes deal with social decent variety communicates the male and female working attributes of the general public and working environment. Manliness speaks to sturdiness among men alongside accentuating on progress material. Then again, ladylike underscores more on personal satisfaction, for example, delicacy and unobtrusiveness. As remarked by Brewer and Venaik (2012), being conceived as a female or male decides the passionate and social commitment and ramifications of a person towards the general public. The womanliness features the kind of society where the two people are unassuming, delicate and worried about the personal satisfaction. Be that as it may, as contended by Volet and Ang (2012), manliness and gentility doesn't just critical sexual orientation contrasts however features the level of manliness and womanliness. The level of manliness speaks to self-assuredness, authority, and execution while the level of womanliness speaks to connections, personal satisfaction and adm inistration. The Japanese society is a case of manliness society because of their incredibly low positioning of female specialists. Then again, the western nations, for example, Norway and Sweden are instances of womanliness society, as a higher measure of compassion towards the female specialists is seen. The male and female journalists are given equivalent and meriting positions and vocation development openings dependent on their abilities, capability, and experience. The element of vulnerability evasion features the capacity of the people or the general public to manage dubious circumstances. Capacity to manage dubious circumstances gives a chance of controlling articulation while maintaining a strategic distance from questionable circumstances (Viberg and Gronlund 2013). In any case, as contended by Grimmelikhuijsen et al. (2013), vulnerability evasion is characterized as how much people are presented to unsure circumstances or occasions. Vulnerability evasion gives a chance to the people to adapt up in future regardless of whether the circumstances experienced are inside the control or wild. Along these lines, societies implying higher pace of vulnerability evasion brings about unfavorable hazard impacts in this way, leaning toward unsurprising condition. As per Hofstedes chip away at social decent variety, people from society having a high pace of vulnerability evasion are commonly narrow minded and unbending (Dickson et al. 2012). This is on the grounds that the people are incredibly undermined by the unsure future circumstances. Therefore, the person from such social orders predicts and anticipates a higher level of hazard engaged with what's to come. So as to pick up security, the people from higher vulnerability shirking society depend on religion, rules, and customs (Beugelsdijk, Maseland and Hoorn 2015). The previously mentioned rehearses are exceptionally pervasive in the greater part of the associations around the globe. For instance, a portion of the association probably won't have any wellbeing and security guidelines and rules or strategies speaking to least compensation for the representatives. In any case, a portion of the associations may have approaches and rules satisfying the previously mentioned factors. The associations that anticipate that specific measure of hazard should occur, thusly, set themselves up for confronting them in future. As per the fifth measurement expressed by Hofstedes chip away at social assorted variety, the fundamental contrast featured inside the general public incorporates clock-time culture against the hour of the occasion. Hofstedes take a shot at social decent variety demanded that the clock time culture is exceptionally common inside ventures and associations. This is on the grounds that the business associations and ventures give more noteworthy significance towards reliability and commitment towards work (Minkov and Hofstede 2012). Key investigates As remarked by Vaiman and Brewster (2015), examining and understanding the essentialness of cross-culture for the business association important for overseeing working environment and connection between the representatives. Thusly, having a profound comprehension of the way of life of various nations is critical so as to direct business universally and all around. Regardless of being well known, Hofstedes take a shot at social assorted variety accumulated a ton of analysis. For instance, a portion of the specialists don't think so with Hofstedes apparatuses for gathering information, for example, overviews. The creators question the exactness of work in this way, scrutinizing Hofstede fai

Owen’s war poetry Essay

It is a broadly recognized truth that war is abhorrent and savage, however it takes the wonderful richness and the vivacious experience of the war to successfully pass on one’s solid disposition against the truth of war. With his continuous utilization of difference, para-rhyme and striking symbolism particularly of blood and light in his assortment of war sonnets, Wilfred Owen effectively depicts the fierce reality in fight in this way mixes the readers’ compassion toward the warriors, communicates his indignation at the purposelessness of war, shows the contempt for uninformed individuals back at home and voices his anguish at the judgment that these troopers need to persevere. The frightful experience Owen has experienced as a fighter in the British Army in World War I clarifies why the huge sufferings by the warriors remains as the most transcendent thought in practically the entirety of his sonnets in the treasury. From the latent enduring of cold breezes that â€Å"knife us† (Exposure) to the upsetting demise of an unfortunate individual companion in gas fighting (Dulce et Decorum est) â€Å"flound’ring like a man in fire or lime†, Owen presents a wide scope of torments that obscures the limit among life and passing. In spite of the fact that the kind of demolition depicted in every sonnet isn't equivalent to some other, they all feature the terrifying cold-bloodedness of the war, generally clear of all the disintegration of a man’s physical appearance and quality. They are all â€Å"knock-kneed, hacking like hags† before somebody was trapped in the poisonous gas â€Å"guttering, stifling, drowning† (Dulce et Decorum est), having â€Å"old wounds spare with cold that can not more ache† (Insensibility) that grow into â€Å"a thousand pains† (Strange Meeting), or in any event, losing their sight â€Å"eyeballs, tremendous lump like squids† that carries them to such an all out breakdown, that â€Å"he sobbed† (The Sentry). â€Å"All went faltering, all blind† in light of the fact that the brutal war gives no exemption at all, and that they had lost their boots has no effect, they still â€Å"limped on, bloodshod†. Utilizing verifiable jargon and striking symbolism which may eventually get odd, Wilfred Owen uncovered the terrible truth of the war. Blood is a compelling picture passing on the feeling of enduring in the fight, which is all upsetting and merciless. It bears the meaning both of the demise of troopers and their blame of shedding the lives of other individuals. The blood either â€Å"come washing from the foam ruined lung† (Dulce et Decorum est) or even gets â€Å"clogged their chariot wheels† (Strange Meeting). Likewise, on the off chance that one notification he would see that the word â€Å"blood-shod† in Dulce et Decorum est which echoes â€Å"blood-shed† completely passes on the appalling idea of the war. So much blood has poured that â€Å"the veins ran dry† (Disabled). Owen likewise effectively uses the impact of sounds and pace. By breaking lines into short pieces, he portrays the fatigue and the limping of these men as the night progressed. Additionally, at whatever point he discusses sufferings, Owen utilizes brutal sounds, for example, â€Å"k† (thump kneed), â€Å"d† (inebriated with weariness, hard of hearing to the hoots)†, â€Å"b† and â€Å"p† (what we ruined/Or, discontent, bubble ridiculous, and be spilled†) which are either normally horrendous sounds or are even suggestive of the sounds that rifles make. Demise is winning in these sonnets and we see most unmistakably in â€Å"Strange Meeting† that the para-rhyme with the subsequent rhyme lower in pitch than the first shows the withering that these officers are experiencing. They beginning of as excited youth just to see themselves gradually bad away to death. That is the severe truth of war that Owen brings to perusers. Through this we can see obviously that he is firmly against war. Along with delineating the physical agony, Owen likewise features the injury that war leaves on any single trooper and the stigmatizing impact on their mindset. Seeing their pathetic confidant in their fantasies is frequenting to such an extent that it either gets so genuine â€Å"guttering, stifling, drowning†(Dulce et Decorum est) or holds returning like the â€Å"eyeballs† that â€Å"watch my fantasy still†(The Sentry). The utilization of ceaseless action word tense passes on the reality of a bad dream and furthermore accentuates on the on-going nature of such repulsive enduring that will damage the on-lookers that endure. Additionally, being â€Å"watched† includes the survivor coerce that upsets them. It is so unfeeling an encounter, seeing individuals â€Å"die as cattle† that at one point a veteran â€Å"try not to recollect these things†. Notwithstanding, â€Å"whenever crumps pounded the rooftop and trudged the air beneath†, t he pernicious sight where his companion â€Å"moans and jumps† and make â€Å"wild prattling of his wrecked teeth† returns (The Sentry); there is simply no chance to get out in light of the fact that even the hints of nature brings back such upsetting memory. The portrayal of threatening vibe in nature is likewise used to additionally highlight the huge mental enduring of the warriors. The â€Å"shrieking air† that pursuits the officers running from post to post and the consistent downpour which â€Å"kept slush midsection high, that rising step by step, started crying the step† (The Sentry) instigates the feeling of danger, that any second the fighters would all be gobbled up. The warriors are too debilitated that they gradually quit any pretense of battling for their lives in the brutality of nature where â€Å"the hardhearted frosted east winds† â€Å"knife us† (Exposure) or when they are going to be â€Å"jabbed and killed†, all they would do is â€Å"parry† (Strange Meeting). The exemplification of nature makes it clear too how every one of these troopers have stopped to intentionally recognize the cold nature from the human armed force that they need to take on against in the conflict. The feeling of unavoidable cynicism in the fight is likewise shown by the deprecatory picture of â€Å"dawn massing in the east her despairing army† (Exposure). Sunrise, the conventional symbolism of expectation and fresh start, has been twisted to turn into a sign of â€Å"melancholy† despair that â€Å"attacks† on â€Å"shivering positions of gray†. The bleak first light mixes in with the shade of the enemies’ uniform, which further burdens the debilitated soul of the fighters in war. Indeed, even in their fantasies where they get a dream of their darling old neighborhood, they remain doubter, pondering whether it is only an antecedent to death, asking â€Å"Is it that we are dying?† The pararhyme â€Å"snow-bewildered faces† and â€Å"sun-dozed† sets up the wispy connection between their misery and their home yet in addition draws out their debilitation at the fragmented and incredible vision they had always wanted. Despite the fact that Owen expects to draw compassion from the perusers for the officers in this manner the indignation at the war, he acknowledges every one of these sufferings as the judgment that the fighters are slanted to endure once they have done battle. His regular reference to Hell is an inference to The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri which subtleties his visionary advancement through some serious hardship and Purgatory. With the depiction of fire in combat zone, Owen prompts a feeling of the â€Å"haunting flares† in Hades’ world (Dulce et Decorum est). In Strange Meeting, the warrior â€Å"stood in Hell† after he â€Å"escaped† from the horrible fight. The picture of â€Å"purgatorial shadows† (Mental Case) is ordinarily Dantean that underscores the convoluted understanding of the veterans. By doing this, Owen is both attempting to pass on the unpleasant experience of being in the war as though they were rebuffed for their blame and communicating his conviction of appearance in Hell significantly after the fighters have gotten away from the war zone. This verifiably opposes the support of these troopers in the war, saying that their sufferings is the judgment for their wrongdoing, on the grounds that when an officer is murdered, he is a â€Å"devil’s tired of sin† (Dulce et Decorum est). Naturally introduced to an Evangelical family, Owen obviously echoes some strict reference in his sonnets. The â€Å"devil’s tired of sin† above is a genuine model. Other than that Owen additionally recognizes that the officers are experiencing misfortune on the grounds that â€Å"love of God appears dying† (Exposure). To him, war is a wrongdoing against the desire of his God which enrages Him so much that he stops to be considerate to the little animals of his Creation. In The Sentry, the outcry â€Å"I see your lights!† and the answer â€Å"But our own had long kicked the bucket out† opens itself to certain understandings. The lights that the evil karma officer has seen bear the implication of the promising finish to the present course of action, a break from the awful life into death. Be that as it may, the others’ lights, their expectation and confidence, have stopped to exist. In this manner we can see in Owen’s eyes, war is a wrongdoing that challenges the desire of God and merits denouncing as it brings all the fighters under the revile too. Such torments are huge to the point that the best way to remain alive is to stifle all feelings and become harsh. The unexpected utilization of the word â€Å"happy† which repeats in the sonnet â€Å"Insensibility† passes on the severe renunciation to the way that warriors can possibly live in war in the event that they â€Å"let their veins run cold† before they bite the dust and from whom no â€Å"compassion† â€Å"makes their feet sore on the rear entryway cobbed with their brothers†: they are permitted no more space for feelings once their companions fall in the fight and they need to step on the carcasses to advance out. â€Å"Wading swamps of flesh† and â€Å"treading blood† (Mental Cases) have become a us

The Class Rundown COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY - SIPA Admissions Blog

The Class Rundown COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY - SIPA Admissions Blog A common question applicants have is, What are classes at SIPA like? I posed this question to current SIPA student Carrie Dorn and she graciously composed the following post . . . no test or paper required, just enjoy! _________________________ With all of the activities and events that are happening at SIPA every day, sometimes current students forget to discuss the most important aspect of our graduate school liveswhat we pay the big bucks forour classes!   If you’re wondering about the class experience at SIPA, I’ll try to describe it here. SIPA is unique in that it offers a flat-rate tuition fee, allowing flexibility in how you structure your workload and schedule each semester.   Full-time students take 12-18 credits per semester, which translates to 4, 5 or 6 classes.   Most students stick with 4 or 5 classes per term, but the amount of work you take on is up to you! The first-year core classes that you take in Economics, Quantitative Analysis, Management, and Financial Management generally take place in the 4th floor classrooms that accommodate 40-70 students.   The material is presented in lecture format and though the classes are fairly large, students can always participate and ask questions.   Each core course has a corresponding recitation section that meets for about 2 hours each week.   Recitations are taught by 2nd year students who are Teaching Assistants (aka TAs) who have aced the class in a previous semester and can generally be considered experts on the course topics.   The TAs are one of your greatest resources.   They also hold weekly office hours and can provide guidance when it comes to homework, course material and projects. The same is true of the MPA’s Politics of Policymaking (POP) course and the MIA’s Conceptual Foundations of International Politics (CF), which are also held in large lecture halls.   When all MPAs and all MIAs gather together for the class once a week, it’s nice to get to know the other students in your program.   For POP and CF, the recitation sections are divided into very small groups with 10-20 students each.   In this forum TAs and students can analyze readings in depth, discuss material presented each week, and practice applying theories with case examples. With some of your core requirements finished, eventually you will be able to take concentration and specialization courses. Many of these classes are held in the smaller rooms, in a more intimate setting focused on class discourse.   In these seminar courses, faculty members have a chance to get to know you personally and they also provide an ideal environment for you to learn from the professional experiences of your teachers and colleagues.   These are often held in classrooms on SIPA’s upper floors…so you will be joining the rush hour crowds at the elevators.   (From experience I’ve learned that taking the stairs is always faster than the elevatorfor floors 5 through 9 at least…and it’s also good to get some exercise as you make your way to class.) In both large and small classes, there is always the opportunity to get to know your professors and have them recognize you.   You can stand out as a star student by participating in class professors appreciate enthusiastic volunteers and taking the initiative to meet with them outside of the classroom.   Teachers are also open to hearing student feedback, and particularly in seminar classes, they may adjust the course content to meet students interests.   All professors offer weekly office hours to meet with students about course material or professional advising.   Many students find that when they have made an effort to seek advice from a faculty member, they have been offered assistance in connecting with internships, jobs and other resources.   You also might find common interests with SIPA faculty when you run into them at lectures and events. Getting ready for the first day of classes each semester can be exciting and a little anxiety-producing.   Even though you’ve studied your schedule, you still may get lost and walk around in circles looking for your class on the 4th floor …which most of us still do after 2 years.   (If you haven’t noticed yet there are plaques around the 4th floor walls that list the classrooms numbers, that you can glance at as you walk by, without having to venture down each hallway.) You may wonder if you’ll see any familiar faces in class.   You’ll consider if you’re better off sitting in the front rows with your pen and paper in hand or trying to hide out in the back of the classroom with your laptop.   Soon enough you’ll be settled into a seat, starting your first SIPA class!

The Sociological Imagination The Effect of Personal...

The Sociological Imagination Focussing on Goodwins quote, I intend to discuss through this essay, the fact that for social workers, the most important thing that sociology can teach is not how ‘personal issues’ may be public issues, but in fact how people’s experiences of personal issues effect public concerns and policy and shape everybody’s lives, thus how their service users’ issues are in fact public issues. To answer the question in brief, poverty is an aspect of contemporary society that can affect anyone at any time, therefore it is of everyone’s concern and is a public issue. For social workers, while it is important to acknowledge how poverty is often a very personal experience for people, it is something that is affected†¦show more content†¦It is widely accepted that the stress of poverty has long term implications on people’s health; limiting long-term illness among people of working age is not only a potential cause of poverty but also a poten tial consequence of it (http://www.poverty.org.uk/i61/index.shtml). Piachaud also notes this association, stating that ‘there are large differences in health and mortality that are linked to income and social class’, (Piachaud in Ellison and Pierson 1998 p.239). While these examples are not specific to everyone’s experiences when living in poverty, they highlight the various affects on individuals and families when living in poverty. Indeed, they highlight how people’s experiences of poverty make it a personal issue. However, as will be discussed, personal issues of poverty also highlight that poverty is not an isolated concern but is linked to several other social issues, making it a public concern and a public issue. The Frank Butler Trust recently commissioned a research project that was undertaken by researchers from York University and NSPCC’s child protection team. However, everything changed when he crosses paths with Eric del Mundo (Dennis Trillo) again – his greatest love. Unlike Vincent, Eric is openly gay. But, just like Vincent, he still is in love with him. Eventually, the two men start an affair and Vincent tries to hide the affair from Lally by showering her with gifts and attention. However, Lally’s intuition tells her that something is wrong even though everything in her married life seems fine. That’s when she starts to investigate and she eventually learns of Vincent’s darkest secret. II. Audience Reception My reception Well, at first I didn’t like the idea of My Husband’s Lover because I’m not a homosexual, and I don’t like homosexuals too, so I didn’t watch the Pilot Episodes of My Husband’s Lover. But then, my Mom used to watched television after work, it just so happens that she turned the channel to channel 7 (GMA) and the show was My Husband’s Lover, she watched for a few minutes, after the show she got attracted by the story. She goes by everyday watching the show. I have no choice but to watch too, since we only have one television and I have nothing to do. The show’s story is good as it is. I just don’t like the theme of the show which is about homosexuals. But by watching it every day, I came to like the show. I even got excited when Lally is about to discover her husband’s secret. I think I liked the show because of the professionalism of the actors, and the moral lesson given to us by the story itself. There are many moral lessons in this story; you just need to dig deep into the words spoken by the actors. B. Others reception Interviewee: Maria Aileen Icay She said, â€Å"For the past few days, this drama has been consistently topping the trends and even the ratings despite its unusual story concept. This drama has taken our country by storm. We define it along with the veterans in the Philippine entertainment industry as â€Å"Phenomenal†. This drama that I’m so proud of for is the most talked-about†My Husband’s Lover†. Primarily it’s because this drama is a gem! For a drama fan like me, this drama has set the bar higher for upcoming Philippine dramas and is a history in itself. This is the first drama that tackles same-sex relationship in a very realistic manner. Aside from that, the family issues this drama portrays are something that most of us can empathize with or can even relate to. It’s just sad that some people refrain from watching this masterpiece just because they are a fan of the rival network or they’re a Roman Catholic or they are against same-sex relationships. † Interviewee: Gia Francia Leron She said, â€Å"I just love this drama because everything is very well executed. The story, script, acting and cinematography. No drama is perfect but this is by far the best Filipino drama I’ve ever seen in my watching experience† Interviewee: John Kenneth Sarampote He said, â€Å"What makes My Husband’s Lover such an extraordinary and groundbreaking drama is the fact that it defies standards. We see Vincent and Eric, all masculine and manly, identify themselves as gay men. We see that their relationship is rooted on love and not on monetary co-dependence. We see that there are many layers of characters that define a gay man. We see two gay men struggle prejudice that pushes them to loathe themselves and hide who they really are. We see that all people, no matter what gender, struggle in their own way. † Interviewee: John Paul Luis He said, â€Å"I’ve never been a Kapuso viewer actually. I liked the show even before it aired on television because of the theme, the theme song, the story. Everything. I also liked the show because I can relate to Vincent (Tom Rodriguez) especially on his life, the part wherein he hides his real identity just because his father is a retired general. I envy Eric (Dennis Trillo) because of the acceptance of his mom that he is Gay and her mom is just okay with it. I pity Lally (Carla Abellana) because right from the start, Vincent had been lying to her. What I can only say is that this show made me cry. All of the emotions are already here. Interviewee: Maurice Kim Lim He said, â€Å"What makes My Husband’s Lover unique is its central struggle — that of a wife witnessing the disintegration of her marriage with her closeted gay husband, whose failure to come to terms with his homosexuality gives Filipinos a venue to discuss pressing LGBT issues. â€Å" How to cite My Husband’s Lover, Papers

Global Supply Chain Management

Question: Write an essay on Global Supply Chain Management. Answer: Introduction: 1.0 Global Supply chain Management: The global supply chain of management refers to a function performed by the global supply chain management professionals, who attempt to ensure that the consumers in almost all the countries receive the products and services that they are in need of within proper time and also the quality standards of the and cost concerns are met or satisfied effectively. The global supply chain of management and the individuals related to this field play very significant role in serving the ends of the healthcare, non-profit agencies and several business and government agencies, by contributing towards their proper functioning and thereby fulfilling the needs of the consumers across the world. Any supply chain denotes the collaboration of all the procedures that remain involved, as and when a company initiates the process of production of final product with the help of the raw materials and then finally is delivered or delivered to the customers. Thus, the supply chain refers to this entire process; it does not mean only the supply of the final good, rather the entire process of manufacturing a good or service. Thus, it obviously requires critical professional skills for the management of the movement of raw materials into a company, processing of the materials into finished product and finally distributing or supplying the same. Thus, the global supply chain management personnel supervise or manage this entire cycle or flow of processed goods and services. 1.1 Supply Chain management Strategies: The supply chain of a business organization depends upon various factors or practices that govern both the production and supply of the goods and services. They can probably be the following: The framework of Industry: The framework of an industry refers to the total collection and interaction of various factors, such as the customers, technological and economic factors, demand variation of the consumers, the lifecycle of the products, and other such factors related to the operation of an industry define and influence the framework of the industry. Unique value proposal: Secondly, there should be a clear understanding of an organizations position or reputation in the market in terms of its supply chain. This is because the unique value proposal enable the organization to shape and structure all the processes and factors of production accordingly that can fulfil the needs of the customers and meet the criteria of the companys value proposal. Managerial Focus: The managerial functions of a company become very important for maintaining a balance between an organizations position, its competitive advantage in the market and the procedures involved in the supply chain. If balance between these two aspects are maintained then the company can easily aim towards its progress. Internal Processes: The internal processes refer to the activities that together make up the supply chain process, these processes need proper orientation of these internal processes, especially there should be a proper interaction between the utilization of the assets and the location of the decoupling point. When there is a perfect organization between these two factors then all the other factors can be governed easily. 1.2 Innovations in the Supply Chain Management: The management of the supply chain is an intensely complicated process because it involves various functions right from the procurement of raw materials, processing of goods from and the supply or distribution of those finished products from the manufacturing plant to the end points in order or satisfy the customers. Thus, this entire chain is a highly knowledge intensive process too. Therefore, if RFID technology is implemented in the management of the supply chain, then it can easily ensure the improvement and reliability of the supply chain, thereby reducing the extraneous complexities present in the supply chain and management. The introduction of the RFID tags and barcode readers enable easy and much faster operations in terms of authentication of goods. The conventional methods involve manual counting of the goods and services which is a highly time consuming process. As for instance, in the case of the FMCG manufacturing companies, the manual counting of the processes, during almost every stage such as, during the procurement of the raw materials, production of the finished goods and services, sorting and packing of the final products; results in a huge consumption of time. While if such industries incorporate the methodology of RFID, then it becomes possible for the company or the manufacturing, industry to undertake the counting processes in just a few se conds. This is because the RFID tags can be scanned very promptly and multiple tags can be scanned. It becomes easy for the manufacturers to keep records about the production processes with the help of the RFID technology. When the labour cost is reduced, then it leads to the reduction in the cost of production as the labour intensive tasks can be performed easily within short period by the RFID technology. It ensures a firm of less manual work and cost of production therefore, accuracy in keeping records and thereby the entire planning and decision making within the firm become much more advanced. The management of the firm can easily approve of the keep track of the accurate movement of the raw materials , finished goods, time needed for production steps, and the extent of the maintenance of the machinery and equipment. As the speed of the process of producing the goods and services is accelerated, therefore, the delivery costs are reduced, and as a result, the profitability of th e firm is augmented. 1.3 Continuous Improvement in the Supply Chain Management: The application of the lean management principles to the supply chain has enabled the firms in reducing the waste generation during the production process. As and when the waste generation is reduced, it automatically reduces the cost of production. In accordance to this particular process of lean management, a continuous improvement is done in the process of undertaking those activities that will help in the reduction of the waste. Therefore, the focus is placed only upon the creation of the finished goods that will ultimately add value to the customer service. Goods, which have high demand in the market, should be taken into consideration. The strategies that can be followed for the effective implementation of the lean management practices may range from the visual workplace, workplace organization, proper interaction of the internal processes, ongoing training, total productive maintenance and batch size reduction. To make a proper commencement of the entire process, both the customer and the production unit should be aware of the nature of the waste. Over processing and overproduction, transportation, inventory, waiting, defects are the activities that add to the waste related activities. The moment these are reduced through lean management practices, the progress of the firm can be easily enhanced. 1.5 Risk Management and the Strategies Involved: Risk management is necessary to mitigate any uncertainties related to quick operation, particularly in context of supply chain management in order to reduce to the chances of failure, with respect to transhipment of goods from one point to another and proper storage of the same. The techniques used for risk management are based on various probabilities that help to estimate the occurrence of failure and divert the risks involved. The risk management in supply chain management involves implementation of various techniques. Two of the important techniques are discussed below: Risk Management through Decision Tree: This technique is particularly useful when a whole seller buys a particular quantity of materials and offers them to the retailer at some other price. The various constraints (nodes) involved in the decision tree consider various offers from the competitive whole sellers. It helps to simplify the decision making process by assuming the whole seller who is providing the materials at the lowest price. Thus, in the way the retailer can mitigate the risk by avoiding the cost involved in buying materials from the whole sellers are who are operating at high rates. Risk Management through Monte Carlo Simulation in supply chain management: The conceptualization of Monte Carlo relies on random sampling and computational algorithms to obtain favourable results by reducing the chances of uncertainties. Monte Carlo Simulation is a more sophisticated technique that is being adopted by many industries instead of the conventional processes. It refers to a quantitative risk analysis procedure, based on computerized mathematical technique.MCS, once implemented in an organization enables the proper assessment of the probable risks and the techniques that can be adopted in order to mitigate the same. The modeler helps the management to choose from conservative, most likely and optimum cases of occurrence of risks. The probability distribution of the simulation helps to estimate the minimum, maximum and most likely cases of uncertainties. 1.5 Sustainable Supply Chain Management: A company is able to incorporate the sustainable management in the supply chain management through the prudent management and improvement of the economic, social and economic strategies of the organization. This in turn will assist the organization to conserve the resources, make an optimized use of the resources, increased productivity and thereby help in the preservation of the environment. Many research reports have shown that the sustainability in the global supply chain is growing in case of many businesses. Thus, as the supply chain involves different steps of the production process, therefore, if a firm uses the resources in a very sustainable manner for the production of its products then it will be able to reduce the impact upon rather adverse impact upon the natural environment (Fernie Sparks, 2014). In order to achieve sustainability in the supply chain, some of these following steps can be followed: Companies should reduce the wastage of raw materials during the procurement. Employment of some individuals should be done who will be able to perform the treatment of the products before packaging in order to deliver the finished product without the generation of waste. Environment friendly methods need to be adopted while procuring the raw materials, so that environment friendly goods can be produced. 1.6 Collaboration strategies for it: The companies nowadays are very much interested in undertaking collaborations or joint initiative with other companies in order to improve the entire system of delivery in the recent years and to reduce the additional costs that are incurred on the supply side, to reduce inventories and make developments in speed in the entire process, thereby resulting in customer level satisfaction. The strategies that can actually adopted by the companies to ensure successful collaboration are the following: A company while collaborating must be well aware of the company it is collaborating with. Both of them should be rest assured of the investments to be made, right infrastructure and planning. The collaboration should be of a long tenure, so that both the companies can understand each other, their needs and long term perspectives. There arises then, a greater understanding of each others potential and thereby taking steps in accordance with that. The companies merging together must remain assured that both of them possess the similar performance management system. The infrastructure of the companies involved in the collaboration process must have a very stable and better infrastructure along with robust and enthusiastic individuals who can make the entire process a success by allocating proper resources and defining vision for the collaboration(Lee Ng, 1997). Both the companies that collaborate with each other must be aware of the fact that they should work upon a benefit sharing model so that both of them procure from the business similar profits. 1.7 Crucial strategies for Supply Chain Management: Innovation, Sustainable management of the resources, collaboration of the companies for the better management of the processes involved in the supply chain, proper follow up of the risk management plans and methods and finally the continuous improvement of the supply chain, right from the collection of the raw materials till the delivery of the finished goods, all together constitute the five important or crucial strategies of the Global Supply Chain Management (Gunasekaran et al.2001). 1.8 The challenges (how the 5 strategies will affect each other) According to Obizhaeva Wang (2013), the five strategies namely innovation, continuous improvement, risk management, sustainability and collaborative strategy are interlinked with one another. The innovation strategy such as implementation of RFID technology in fleet vehicles is directly related to continuous improvement. In todays global supply chain management RFID tags in vehicles as well entry point of a logistics distribution hub has an impact on the day to day functioning of a business (Hervani et al.2005). As we have discussed earlier RFID provides an edge over conventional methods of counting. This has a direct overall impact on the aspect of Continuous Improvement. The innovation strategy is also associated to collaborative strategies by lowering down the costs, improvement in speed of service and customer contentment. We can further relate the strategy of risk management with sustainability of the supply operations. The various techniques used for risk evaluation is done in order to select the favorable probability scenario and improve the decision making process sustained supply chain management (Fernie Sparks 2014). 2.0 Global Supply chain in Maritime: With the expansion in the world economies and increasing globalization, the business interests of the organizations are also undergoing a change and expansion. The demands for a variety of goods and services across the world due to the fluctuating tastes of the consumers and their lifestyle led to the increase in dependence over the maritime logistics, that became a major means now of transportation now. The maritime supply chain refers mainly to the transportation of goods and services between two or more ports. The ever evolving needs of the customers has intensified and enhanced the importance of the maritime logistics. Logistics or the supply chain management ensures and aims at the ultimate satisfaction of the customers. Thus, in the same way the Maritime transport and the liner transport aim at the customer satisfaction by delivering the goods at the right place and at the right time. Maritime logistics has made the process of the transportation of goods and services from one port to another port very smooth with the use of liner shipping service instead of tramp shipping situation which carries a bulk of cargoes. The introduction of Maritime logistics has thus achieved the goals of logistics that are timelessness, low cost or cost effectiveness and reliability. 2.1 Shipping Port Industry (PSA): The Port Of Singapore is an economic need for the people living there as Singapore lacks the natural or land resources. Therefore, PSA has proved to be a boon for the upliftment of the economic conditions of the place. It is at present the Worlds second busiest and the most competitive port. It provides various facilities and terminals to conduct smooth trade handling. It helps in the transhipment of more than half of the worlds annual supply of crude oil and also ranks high in the transport of cargo. The exclusive geographical location and the technology implemented made the port the most vital one (Vidal Goetschalckx, 1997). 2.2 Competitive advantage for the Shipping Port (Port of Singapore Authority): Resources at the port- The availability of immense natural resources, especially the resources at the port is a great advantage to the shipping industry in Singapore, namely its large protected harbor, its location at major trade routes and well-educated workforce (Power, 2005). Thus, it is one of the geographical advantages that help in the progress of the shipping industry at Singapore. Key Operations conducted at PSA: As the port is located at a very advantageous position, it has become the choice for most of the exporters and importers across the world. However, it is not only the importance of strategic location, but also because of its efficient port operations and cost effectiveness. There is a well-defined co-ordination among all the operations at the PSA. CITOS or the Computer Integrated Terminal Operations System manages the entire operation system at the PSA, right from the arrival of the ships to the unloading and loading of goods. 2.3 Supply chain Approach: The world has turned to be a very complex place to operate in terms of logistics, because of the increasing change in the consumer demands, which again has posed a major challenge in the near future. Therefore, the approach of the supply chain should follow the following step for better management: Expectations of the consumers: The most important motive of the logistics and the supply chain management operation should be to act according to the needs of the customers and the satisfaction of the same within the right time with right quality standards. Maintenance of cost effectiveness: It is a common trend that although the customers remain apprehensive about their expectations of the goods and services, they aspire them at a very low cost. However, it becomes impossible to keep the costs always at a low level. Thus, in accordance to the present situation, the logistic costs play a very vital role in determining the ultimate costs of the products and moreover the logistics costs have helped in reducing the overall costs of production, which is required to be maintained. Globalization: The logistics and the supply chain management should develop the knowledge and infrastructure which will help in dealing with the rising globalization, customer requirements and the emerging market conditions. Pressure of sustainability: The concept of sustainability and maintaining the same became very important in todays world. It has turned to be one of the corporate social responsibilities. Increased risk and challenges: Research and development, procurement, production and sales are some of the strategies that can be used by the logistics to mitigate the risk. Use of new technology: Most of the companies are looking forward to incorporate new technology, like the big data analysis tools that will help in better planning and controlling the results. 2.4 Identification of key performance indicators of PSA In terms of volumes of trade in shipping PSA is one of the busiest ports in the world. Some of the key performing indicators of this port are: Planning of orders Sourcing Production Delivery of the shipments Bai Sarkis (2014) 2.5 Supply chain strategies to be achieved for each KPI are mentioned as follows: 2.51: Planning of orders: The planning of orders includes demand forecast for each individual shipments arriving at PSA. Planning strategy also deals with planning the cycle time from receiving of an order for a shipment to delivery time for the same. The planning of inventory is important for proper maintenance of the bulk cargo and reducing the amount of wastage for perishable items. The total influx at PSA port amounted to 30.62 million twenty foot equivalent unit of containers in the year 2015. Through appropriate planning strategy the total order vs. the forecasted order can be evaluated for an increased efficiency (Gopal Thakkar 2012). 2.52 Sourcing: The sourcing strategy plays a crucial role in assessing vendor lead time and minimizing the same. The general KPI for sourcing is supplier fill rate, which gives a report of the reliability of the suppliers. The step is to measure the fill rate as per individual items, secondly the simple way to measure the suppler fill is done by comparison of the actual date of delivery with the requested date of delivery. The ideal measure is to incorporate the allowance limit in the computation process, as each line product is having a different order lead time. Another important component is receiving of accurate purchase requisites, which contains information related to quantity of materials and due date for the same. In order to effectively implement the strategy Material Requisite Planning needs to be emphasized due to increasing complexities in the material planning process (MPP) (Schggl et al., 2016). 2.53 Production: The KPI for production recognizes changes in the present situation for time departure and arrival of ships at the port, to ensure timely production from the manufactures and order of fill rate. The various production measures to improve the potential metrics include production lead time and capacity utilization. The primary KPI of manufacturing takes into consideration on time departure of an item from the port. Each subsidiary is aided with a shipment plan. The second strategy involves timely production which is also known as (OTP), it is an analysis of the planned production and the actual production. Since most of shipping companies use ERP the monitoring of release of items for daily production becomes easy (Riexinger et al., 2015). 2.54. Delivery of the shipaments: PSA is committed to deliver quick and trustworthy service to all the respective customers. But due to increasing competition in the global supply chain the timely delivery of the shipments is becoming a challenge than before. The metrics based on assumptions involves considering primary time less the timely departure from the sales subsidiary. While calculating the expected time of arrival of the shipment the information is available before the delivery of the products by different supplier oversees the entire demand planning to designing of supply networks (Marron et al., 2015) 2.6 The tradeoff between the supply chain strategies According to Wisner et al., (2015).The tradeoff between the supply chain strategies mentioned above uses a feedback system for continuous adaptation. The primary role of the KPI shows the loopholes between the planned tradeoff and the executed trade off. Thus monitoring of the KPIs becomes important. The above mentioned design guidelines and performance metrics are based on industry standards and in accordance with the best practices in measurement of performance (Chaabane et al, 2012). 2.7 Conclusion: Thus, it is quite evident how the Global supply chain management enables the integrated production and supply or the flow of materials across the world. Through various processes, as mentioned -above the supply chain management is maintained at all the levels in the industrial sectors around the world. Reference List Bai, C., Sarkis, J. (2014). Matter of Childhood Obesity

Matter of Childhood Obesity Introduction The matter of childhood obesity and poor nutrition are some of the catastrophic issues that bedevil the American society today and who should take the responsibility in eradicating it has been the subject of debate since governments, parents, schools and the media carry substantial blame.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Matter of Childhood Obesity specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Statistics in America indicate that the cases of children suffering obesity have spiraled and for the last thirty years, the cases of obesity have increased by fifteen percent (Child Obesity, n.d.). Many reasons have been put forward to justify why obesity cases are on the rise: Doctors associate obesity cases with the fact that children are not consuming the exact type of foods required as a balanced diet and secondly, the American children are getting exposed to less physical exercises everyday. It is argued that eliminating t he cases of obesity in America will be hard unless parents are willing to accept the responsibility to inform their children about healthy lifestyles. There has been a strong debate about the party that should be held responsible for these rising cases of obesity. There are those who argue that it is the responsibility of the government to eliminate it while others argue that it is the responsibility of the parent and the family at large to eradicate it though it is conventional that a child is charged with the responsibility to manage his/her body. It has been turned into a blame game where the parents blame the government and on the other hand the government blames the parents. Main Analysis Educating children about good and healthy eating decisions can assist in reducing cases of obesity among them. This can be achieved through the institution and formulation of laws by the government. The rising cases of obesity is slowly getting out of hand, whereas many believe that the govern ment is to save the country from obesity; the available government policy is not well formulated to solve the problem hence the need for parents to encourage their children to adopt better and healthy eating habits. To encourage healthy lifestyle and good eating habits, the government should raise the health care charges for people who are obese. Although this policy can be argued to be bad, it will motivate those who are obese to adopt health lifestyles while rewarding those who practice good healthy habits. Consequently, despite the fact that such a policy will increase the costs of health care, it will end up promoting healthy eating and encourage body exercise habits but this also depends on the examples set by the parents in their homes (Murtagh, 2011).Advertising Looking for essay on health medicine? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Those who argue that it is the responsibility of the parents to control childre n obesity put forward such points as the need of the parents to teach their children about good healthy habits and inculcating them to programs like weight watchers and girls on-the run which are vital in promoting healthy lifestyles. Parents also need to teach healthy routines in their homes and they should inform their children the benefits of body exercises and also well rounded diet, which can as well be passed from one generation to another. It is argued that children who live with parents who promote healthy lifestyle will likely promote healthy lifestyle and good eating habits when they grow up. Parents also argue that it is a mistake by the government since they are in position and they have the power to introduce some bans and also restrictions on the availability of fast foods and also to some extend prohibit some adverts that may be seen to be promoting unhealthy foods and eating lifestyles. Though these measures cannot completely curb the cases of obesity, they will grea tly reduce obesity cases. Although the government and those who advocate for the curbing of childhood obesity agree that the government should be responsible in eradicating it, they disagree with the government’s argument that parents should teach their children good eating habits and instead, to them, it is the teacher who should be the one to teach the children about the dangers of childhood obesity. Parents also argue that the government should instead operate some classes that offer lessons on obesity to the children. It is argued by the proponents that the parents will not mind paying for the classes since it is in their interest to eliminate childhood obesity (Public Health, 2011). Conclusion Since the elimination of childhood obesity cases rests with two main measures: first, the promotion of physical exercises and two, the promotion of good and health eating habits, the debate on who should take the task of eradicating it should not be a matter of concern since it wil l not in any way solve the problem at hand. It only requires good will and taking of action collectively by all the stakeholders. Government has taken the responsibility to prevent obesity. This has been prompted by the fact that the prevalence of obesity increases the chances of people contracting other lifestyle diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes and also cancer.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Matter of Childhood Obesity specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More There is a need for a collective action if childhood obesity is to be defeated; parents need to teach their children better eating styles and above that they should actually act as their children’s role models on matters of better eating habits. The government should also enact necessary laws to govern the sale of fast foods to children. References Child Obesity. (n.d.). Child obesity in America: taking care of our children. English Literature - Essay Example Moreover, most of these items are military artifacts, and during this time in history, Mercia was expanding through battle into the neighboring kingdoms. The Hoard Staffordshire Hoard is an assembly of artifacts that are mostly gold and silver metalwork. Most of these items have been identified with military. There are, therefore, no domestic-related objects such as eating utensils, vessels, and feminine jewelry. There are specialized words that are important in understanding the artifacts. One of these words is archaeology. This is a term that is used to refer to the scientific study of humanity. It is primarily concerned with environmental data, material culture, and analysis (Keynes 350). Archaeologist is another important word in this aspect. It refers to a person who studies people’s behavior in the past and the things left behind. Anthropology as a specialized word in understanding artifacts refers to the study of people’s past and present in the attempt to understand the complexity of cultures across the human history. A fourth specialized word is hoard, which, in archaeology, refers to a gathering of artifacts o r valuable objects, sometimes buried in the ground. The exhibitions in this hoard are arranged in a way that more than forty star items, including the Biblical inscription, pectoral cross, and the seahorse are set to display. In my opinion, this arrangement is made to give the visitor a summary of the items in the hoard in a single look. To me as a visitor, I found this arrangement interesting to look, since I was able to see all the artifacts within the hoard. There are different items that were used in the past, with different social functions. For instance, the Biblical inscription evidences that, religion was a cultural factor in the past. Moreover, the presence of war tools shows that the society fought as a way of defending itself. A Gold Pommel is one of the objects found in the Anglo-Saxon hoard. The pommel was either of

One of leading causes of death Alzheimer's disease in men Essay

One of leading causes of death Alzheimer's disease in men - Essay Example This type of disease can also be described as memory loss or forgetfulness and it is very common among the elderly people. This condition is responsible for causing more deaths among the males in the US. Schaie & Willis (2002) suggest that dementia of the mind can be attributed to old age and this is seen as a normal development in the life of the human beings. According to Thomas (1996), research has shown that the majority of adults who have what he calls Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) are not aware of their condition and the number of people affected is greater than imagined. Park (2010) posits to the effect that â€Å"More than 5 million Americans currently suffer from Alzheimer's disease, a number that will grow to 13.4 million by 2050. There is no cure.† The other problem related to this disease is that there is no definite test for Alzheimer and the therapies that exist include drugs and lifestyle behaviors which include keeping the mind busy through games and puzzles as well as trying to enrich social relationships with other people. However, these techniques can only can â€Å"only delay, not stop, the onset of memory loss, confusion and cognitive decline that generally extend over a period of several years,† Park (2010). ... According to CDC (2011) the only remedies available include therapies that are offered by voluntary organizations in the US. These specifically provide home based care to the people affected by this disease and at times they provide training programs such as exercise as well as performing other activities like reading and watching television since they help to keep their mind active. The people who offer voluntary work to the affected people also teach them different lifestyle activities that can help them to live health lives. These include aspects such as good diet which can significantly improve their health. The people affected by this disease can also get medication as prescribed by their physicians. The government and other healthcare agencies have spent a lot of money through assisting people affected by this disease. â€Å"The cost of health care for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia was estimated to be 200 billion dollars in 2012, including 140 billi on dollars in costs to Medicare and Medicaid and is expected to reach 1.1 trillion dollars in 2050,† (Tejada-Vera, 2013, p. 1). More resources are being spent in dealing with this problem hence the need for holistic measures that can address the problem once and for all. These groups spend quite a lot of money procuring drugs that can be used by the patients. Part of the money is also used for educational programs that are meant to create awareness among the Americans about the dangers of this disease. It has been realized that a lot of people often ignore the existence of this epidemic which is responsible for causing a lot of premature deaths in the US. The other important aspect about

Personality Type Report Your Personality Preferences EXTROVERT You are social and outgoing. You are most comfortable when with other people and experiencing the world first hand. Interaction with others and first hand experiences energize you. It is not unlike you to start conversations with strangers. You have a preference for the outer world: people, activities, and things. Other people provide you with a mirror, sounding board to help you develop ideas and plans. Being alone may sap your energies. Your concept of the world is derived from experiencing it firsthand and then drawing conclusions. SENSORY / INTUITIVE You appear to be an equal mix of both sensory and intuitive types. This may cause you some conflict at times. On the other hand the balance of the two may work just fine for you. There is certainly nothing wrong with having a fair share of both types if you are happy. Below you will find descriptions of both types.   SENSORY   You usually gather information with your senses: what you can see, hear, taste, touch and smell in the physical world. The facts gathered from the sensory data you process are the building blocks of your model of our world. You concentrate your energies on what actually exists and do not ponder what might exist too much. You are usually practical and rely on your common sense to guide you through the world. You see things as they are and have little or no need to search for underlying meanings.   INTUITIVE   While you do process information through your senses you add a twist to your processing by relying on intuition and serendipity. You look for undercurrents of meaning and abstractions in what you experience physically. You do not just see things just as they are, but as what they could be. While you may rely on common sense at times, you trust inspiration far more. PERCEIVING You like to have as much information as possible before making a decision. Putting off a final decision until the last moment does not make you uncomfortable. Indeed once a decision is made, a course plotted, you may feel a bit uneasy, because you feel bound to a certain course of action. You would much prefer to wait and see what happens. You enjoy the opportunity to improvise. Commitments are not etched in stone to you, and are changeable. FEELING   You make decisions subjectively based upon your values and what is important to you. How people will be affected by your decisions is important to you. You are likely to make decisions based upon what you feel is acceptable and agreeable rather than what is logical. Your truths are founded in your values and those of the society you live in. It is important to remember that we are discussing how you evaluate data and make decisions, and that you rely on your feelings to do so in no way implies you are overly emotional. Your Personality Type Your personality preferences suggest you may be one of two personality types, so both these types are listed below. How My Academic Background Will Help Me

The centerpiece of my college education was that it offered me a chance to read extensively, develop writing skills and learn to think logically, coherently and analytically. I developed and nurtured these skills inadvertently by participating in class discussions, group work and research papers. These tools have subsequently been useful in my personal and work experiences. The breadth and depth of my college curriculum offered me the chance to take classes that cut across a broad spectrum of academic disciplines. The relevance of such a broad educational preparation to management is that it helps widen the horizon of analytical, service and product possibilities. Nevertheless, I was cognizant of the need for me to acquire work experience to help ground my education in a practical framework prior to enrolling in graduate school. My choice of management as the area of career interest was not fortuitous. My relentless participation in extracurricular activities in college and the insights I gained helping my mother in her small business helped galvanize my interest in management training and MBA education. Hence my interest in a finance and brokerage operations work after college. By virtue of my three-year work experience, I have been exposed to several management challenges and opportunities. Perhaps most importantly, the challenges have reinforced my interest to seek modern management solutions. I am intrigued by the manner in which the various facets of management affect each other including finance, operations, human resources, marketing, strategy and information technology. My career plan has been to seek different experiences by virtue of six-month stints in different departments. In this connection, I have had assignments in corporate finance, brokerage and human resources, culminating in my current position in back-office operations and settlement. In the above roles, certain characteristics have been apparent to me as critical success factors. I have learned that the attributes of teamwork, initiative, sense of urgency and leadership are at the core of success in management activities. In graduate business school, I would seek to explore the intricacies of modern business management efforts, challenges and opportunities. Moreover, I intend to learn about the relationships of the various disciplines within management and how their interplay may be optimized to benefit a particular entity.

Adult moral reasoning

For an intellectual Fowler’s framework could be the next â€Å"big thing† in terms of serious theoretical positions on the formation of morality and moral reasoning and the substance of faith. In a human perspective, Fowler successfully attempted to provide a picture that illustrates and guides both the individual being studied and the observer/scientist via the stages (Berger, 1994).Though these stages are not as explicitly applicable to all persons, like other psychologists such as Erikson and Maslow, Fowler’s important contribution apparently is more than expansion of Kohlberg or Piaget. His own personal journey, lengthy and in-depth research has given him a solid premise to work on (Berger, 1994).My personal journey may probably be described closely in the perspective which is described by Fowler. I don’t have much experience and enough intellectual prowess and scholarship to be in the position to do a thorough critique on the theory and theorist.Howev er, since it is a personal response paper, there is one segment that I can truly say that speaks a lot about who I am and my own journey. For instance, faith and morality are intricately intertwined just as faith, ethics and values are almost synonymous (Berger, 1994).Fowler may be correct to a certain extent in attributing specific concepts which indeed are descriptive of universal experiences (Berger, 1994), and I cannot argue with this theorist on this issue. It is altogether important to me that individuals must come to grips to the effects of personal faith on conduct and decision making process, and such issues as personal priorities. It is when a person decides to commit to what may be attributed as a mystical Being (i.e., in the conception of God) that spells a difference to that person’s worldview or way of life. I would still like to argue with Fowler that he has reduced so much to an intellectual explanation something which cannot be explained since there is a diffe rence (in my perspective and understanding) between mere knowledge of God and real spirituality.I personally don’t like it when intellectuals and philosophers settle to â€Å"study God† or morality and departing from real substantive and life changing faith.Reference:Berger, K.
